What to Expect

First Baptist is located just a block off the main street (State Road 5) going through town. Located in a three-story brick building with stained glass windows, we are easy to spot. There is parking along the street as well as a small parking lot down the alley behind the church. Any door will take you into the church, though the middle white door on the side has a chair lift for those who find stairs difficult. Most likely several of our church family will greet you no matter how you enter, though the front entrance will bring you right into the back of the auditorium.

Join us at 9:30 a.m. for coffee, tea, and snacks followed immediately by Sunday School and the Adult Bible Class. Sunday School is provided for ages 5 years through adult. We have two children’s classes and the teens and adults are together in the Adult Bible class. Both children’s classes use curriculum designed to give an overview of the Bible that helps them understand, at their age level, how the whole Bible fits together. The adults study includes discussion around the current book or topic being studied.

Our church body is our family. Come visit and you will be warmly welcomed into our family! The Sunday morning service occurs at 10:45 starting with the singing of traditional hymns and praise songs, a time of prayer requests and prayer. Pastor usually is preaching through a book of the Bible and alternates between an Old Testament and a New Testament book. Occasionally he takes a break from the specific book and will preach on a topic or different passage of Scripture. His desire is to teach God’s Word and encourage us to change to be more like Christ because of the Scripture we hear.

Children are welcome in the service. We do have a nursery available for newborns through age three, though some keep their children in the service. We staff the nursery with two women from our church family and parents are welcome back there at any time.

We look forward to having you visit and hopefully become a part of our family at First Baptist Church.
